Ode to Paris
I am very proud to present my new collection.
I hope you enjoy wearing it as much as I enjoyed creating it.
It is undeniable that France has an incredible influence on the art scene as well as architecture.
The more time I spend there, the more it evokes that sentiment of belonging. This is funny since my connection is not by blood but rather by books - whether art and architecture books or observations.
I don’t speak the language (not that I haven’t tried), but I can pick up bits of it.
Over the years, I’ve traveled to France for work, mainly to Paris, and it is just an incredible feeling seeing how they appreciate what has been built and try to preserve it while incorporating the new world and its changes.
Their museums, coffee shops, and leisurely way of life are present every day in their lives. It always amazes me when I visit museums and see many kids sitting on the floor listening to a lecture and drawing; it is such a good feeling. Sitting in a coffee shop, you look; they have a bookshelf in the corner where anyone can grab and read a book.
Ode to Paris is a Collection that aspires to emulate all these feelings. For many years, all I knew were images from a book or many books in art school, and now I have experienced all those book pages, so why not use them to the best of my ability and create something that reminds me of that?
